Sport Harry - how it all started...

Driven by the courage to innovate, a vision for ski rental turned into a success story: in the 1960s, Josef Rudigier from Gaschurn decided to open his first ski rental shop in a rented garage.

1955
Josef Rudigier opens one of the first ski rentals in Montafon. He is helped in this endeavour by his sons.

1974-78
Harald Rudigier completes his 4-year apprenticeship in ski and binding manufacturing at Head in Kennelbach, Bregenz.

1983
Harald Rudigier opens his first sports equipment shop with ski rental in St. Gallenkirch.

1994
Harald Rudigier joins the group purchasing organisation Sport 2000.

1996
The branch near the Garfrescha Bahn valley station is added. Sport Harry now also rents sleds.

1996
Sport Harry gets its first website: www.sportharry.at

1999
Son, Samuel Rudigier, begins his apprenticeship as a salesperson in his father's company.

2001
Sport Harry joins the ski rental organisation of the Sport 2000 brand, becoming an official Sport 2000 rent partner.

2002
Samuel Rudigier completes his apprenticeship with flying colours.

2004
Sport Harry expands, moving into a new shop two houses down.
2004
Sport Harry starts renting bikes and adds a bike workshop to its shop in the centre of St. Gallenkirch.

2007
award-winning apprenticeship provider: since 2007, Sport Harry has been providing apprenticeships in sales. (So far 6 apprentices in 10 years).

2011
The branch near the Valisera/Grasjoch Bahn is opened.

2012
Professional ski service: Sport Harry expands its service with the Montana maintenance robot "Diamond".

2012
Harald Rudigier founds the strategic business platform Premium Inside with renowned representatives of the sports equipment industry. Its purpose: to exchange experiences and design the future of sports equipment retailers in touristic areas. "Top Sports Shops of the Alps"

2013
Sport Harry celebrates its 30 years of existence.

2013
Sport Harry becomes a member of WIGE Montafon. In 2014, Harald Rudigier becomes a member of the board.

2015
The second son, Robin Rudigier, joins the family team after completing his sales apprenticeship at Sport Riml in Sölden and gaining three years of professional experience with Sport Jennewein in St. Anton.

2016

Expansion of the ski boot fitting service in the shop by Valisera/Grasjoch Bahn valley station

Expansion of the storage - Valisera/Grasjoch Bahn valley station
